As you know, operating systems are much more than a graphic environment for managing a computer. Many operating systems already separate the shell from the operating system. What’s more, the shell is something that can be done without, or even substituted.
GeoShell does precisely that – it substitutes the Windows graphic shell for a simpler, quicker, and lighter one. The changes are very notable in the substituted parts: task bar, start menu, system tray, etc.
One of the greatest advantages of GeoShell over the original Windows shell, beyond the decreased consumption of resources, is the ability to add modules, very similar to the Gnome panel on Linux, although it still needs some polishing.
If you like to try alternatives to the Windows shell or simply want to free up resources on your system, GeoShell can be very beneficial.
